Rock the Body Positive Clinic

She Moves Mountains is partnering with Wild and Weightless to create a space to make connections between the physical experience of rock climbing and our relationship to our bodies, drawing from paralleling themes such as fear, control, motivation, empowerment, and ego-driven expectations.
This outdoor experience aims to build compassionate relationships with our bodies through time spent outside, and will offer space to challenge the myths we have created about our bodies.
We will climb multiple routes within your climbing range, talk about the emotions that surface during them. We will also share a meal provided by She Moves Mountains while practicing mindful eating techniques. Throughout the course of the day we will be engaging journal processing and deep discussions on the topic of our bodies and rock climbing.
This clinic is for any woman who struggles with their body image and/or their relationship to food and exercise. No experience required.
Dates: April 13th- April 14th
16 hours of rock climbing guidance and body positivity practices, all group and personal climbing gear, and swag bag provided by The North Face
Does not include:
Transportation to and from Chattanooga, and gratuities for She Moves Mountains guides.
Both new and experienced climbers are welcome.
Meet the guides
The curriculum utilized in this clinic was developed by Kristen Ales and Sarah Regan. Kristen holds a Master's degree from Naropa University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, with an emphasis in Wilderness Therapy. Sarah is an AMGA SPI certified guide who has taught this clinic on the west coast and is working toward developing this clinic further in other locations.
